TRUNK OF TRAVELERS STOLEN AND RECOVERED. – On last Wednesday week a trunk containing some clothing and valuable jewelry was stolen from Mr. G. H. Poindexter, who resides at the corner of Nineteenth and Marshall streets, in this city. On yesterday a negro boy was seen at the market wearing a shirt and pair of shoes which were identified as having been in the trunk when it was stolen. The boy when arrested said that he had bought the shirt and shoes from a negro named Tom White, who lives at Chimborazo. A search-warrant was obtained and an officer went out to White’s quarters, which were searched, and the trunk and the whole of the missing property, with the exception of a pair or two of socks, recovered uninjured.
