From the Richmond Examiner, 5/13/1864

PRISONERS FROM THE BATTLE FIELD. – Fifty three prisoners, captured at Southanna bridge, on Wednesday, reached the Libby yesterday morning. They represented thirteen regiments of cavalry and infantry. One officer was among them, Captain Z. Vaughn, of the First Maine cavalry. Five more were brought in during the day, captured at Battery No. 8, on the Mechanicsville turnpike. – One officer, Captain O. J. Downing, of the Second New York cavalry, was among them. The prisoners generally are saucy, impudent and boastful, but that is the nature of the beast in some of his moods.
